Welcome back to episode 33 of "Splitting Hairs Free Salon Education" podcast, where hosts Matt Beck, Christina Cavalcanti, Brian Haire, and Karlie Warehime dive into the latest in hair industry topics and trends. This episode is brought to you by our sponsors at Minerva Beauty.
In this episode, we dive into the impact of "clout chasing" and influencers on the hair industry. We'll discuss #TonerGate, the latest controversy sweeping HairTok, and explore whether the quest for virality has undermined the trust between stylists and clients. We'll also examine how cancel culture is making stylists increasingly hesitant in their work.
We also want to hear from you. Does cancel culture scare you? Drop your thoughts in the comments—let’s keep this conversation going.

Why even use the word “Fix”?? If your on target to what you had hoped for and consulted with the guest so your on the same end result page, then it’s not a “Fix” !
She obviously had a different vision or outcome than what you had discussed!!
If YOU, the technician really thought it came out different than you hoped for, THEN, you probably would be the first person to say, “Hey, I’m not liking where this went, how do you feel about it? I expected ….. so unless you’re ok with it, let’s live with it for a while and see how it plays out in a few weeks? Or I could ….. to make sure it’s where I/we visioned ! But the word FIX sounds like you did something WRONG, a MISTAKE ?
I know I personally have to feel I gave my client what I visioned, as well as the conversations we have before during and after to share comments about how it looks, and what other ways we can change it up the next time!
I think talking about THEM, and how much time they spend or want to spend will determine what IS possible for any change!

Nah…not scared about social influencers…just the opposite…I am confident and precise in my work…make sure to have a good consultation…check in with client every step of the way…my 2” might be different than their 2” off a haircut. Always good to err on the side of “longer” than too short. Good communication is essential.
