This shear is built with a Kengata edge (center ridge built up to make the blade more powerful). The D19 is top of its class when it comes to a weighted shear, both durable and powerful , and that gets through any hair type easily ( even the coarsest of density of hair with a breeze ).
Design Note: Handles come even, semi offset, and offset. The degree of ” offset ” determines the distance your thumb has to travel in order to open and close a scissor. Even handles require the thumb to have to travel furthest as far as ergonomics go. Offset handles make the opening and closing of a scissor effortless. ( see clip below ) The Sword® series features the most offset handles within the North American collection.
