The precision shear amongst the Sword® series. Characterized by a severely offset (crane) handle.

The focus of designing the “Sword” series was to take into consideration the importance of ergonomics by redefining the three-dimensional handle. A built in ball bearing for the screw made from carbon resin, provides the smoothest feeling in a scissor that has ever been achieved.

The D-17 is the classic of the Sword series, and a premium workhorse shear.

Design Note: Handles come even, semi offset, and offset. The degree of ” offset ” determines the distance your thumb has to travel in order to open and close a scissor. Even handles require the thumb to have to travel furthest as far as ergonomics go. Offset handles make the opening and closing of a scissor effortless.  ( see clip below ) The Sword® series features the most offset handles within the North American collection.
